Small Form Factor PC or laptop ?

I bought a shuttle X - indeed has only one PCI slot, but also one AGP slot along with the built in video card. Ditched the floppy drive (have an external USB sony one still for emergencies) and ordered it with 2 120Gb hard drives. Nice. Quiet too. coops

    Recommend free CD-DVD burning software?

www.dvddecrypter.com - is a free dvd decrypter..takes out any copyrighting malarkey, then use say Intervideo DVD copy to copy the decrypted files. Works fine. DVDcopy can also save to DivX files etc so you can keep on your hard disk in a compressed format. coops

    Grisoft

AVG - never a problem, used it on 4 pc's so far... would also recommend Opera web browser, excellent and has very good email client built in. Keep your IE6 available just for the odd web site that doesn't work with anything else.... like having a spare free web email account purely for...

    Attack Of The Pop-ups

also go to http://www.wilderssecurity.com. and get spyware blaster - this runs like a virus checker and will prevent any new infections/ trojan installs etc. The Spybot search and destroy will clean things up great, but doesn't monitor continuously. For regular pop up killing, I...

    Dax Index Futures vs. Emini's

I gave up on Esignal due to the bad Eurex data. Switched to IRd at www.ird.com, a realtick service, which has been way better. An interesting thing (looking at ESTX50 quotes, but Dax would be the same) has been that IB quotes are still mostly slightly more timely than from IRD. IB's quotes are...

Who is a good data provider for EUREX?

I use IRD at www.ird.com . It's Realtick based. It was mentioned in previous posts that US residents can't use them (!!), which would be a shame. Data is reliable and way better than Esignal was ( i gave up on them due to their crappy Euro feed). btw IB's own feed into TWS is slightly quicker...

    Esignal European data Lag

I thought esignal were meant to be changing their feed for ESTX etc..... was awful before, no bid or ask size on quotes, no volume, lag etc etc. If it's still bad you should definitely contact them, they were meant to be getting a direct feed from the exchange. I ditched them for IRD - more...

    Short Britney now....

oh dear, oh dear.... ditched by Pepsi, and now advertising....... a Toyota. Oh, the humiliation. I'm in Thailand, so was surprised to see her face on a newspaper ad for the Toyota Vios. You've never heard of it have you? Course not - it's the model BELOW the Corolla (now you know there...

    spreadsheet newbie

An Access database would be better for analysis etc but haven't got round to that....... here's one sheet from my trading log - it's for futures (either ES or ESTX50 eurostoxx50). It'll calculate profit/loss for either - the commssions used are for IB. To make it easier once you've entered...

    E-signal

Ditch, check out www.ird.com not available to US customers someone mentioned.... otherwise has volume for ESTX. coops

Need details about tick data on ESTX50 (Nov 11)

x-or, not sure what time your trade was exactly..... in CET time (ie local time). My IB executions are 6 hours behind CET ie IB executes at 3:04 (NY time) which is 9:04 CET. The only time on the 11th at 10 minutes past that is around the 2410 price seems to be at 11:10, so here is the Tick...

    Estx50

Have been using Esignal - compared to IB i can't say i've seen 20sec delays.... but on the other hand, now have IRD to compare it too.... Esignal euro feed has no volume in the charts, either minute or tick charts. My tick charts have no historical info at startup approx 30min before market...
