    DIS and GS

I'm looking to take a long position via calls on DIS and possibly GS. Short term swing trade. DIS looks good to pick up at around $76 intrinsic. It is on a long term up trend which I think will continue for now. GS is more speculative. Had mixed earnings recently. If it should get...

    Market Cap - F 60 Billion, GM 51 Billion, TSLA 24 Billion

This stock has a range of $10+ intraday. Crazy to watch. Tempting to pick up some puts on the last day before expiry for a lotterty ticket :)

    Market Cap - F 60 Billion, GM 51 Billion, TSLA 24 Billion

Thanks for posting your trade FX and also your info on my GS post. I will keep an eye on this one too. The option premium on this stock is insane, but given the volatility, I guess it is warranted. If you are still holding, it looks like TSLA will open down today, giving you some nice...

    GS

Thanks for the info FXforex. It makes sense that if GS moves, it will be quick. I have not paid too much attention to the weekly options. I'll consider them more often. I'm still leaning with a slightly longer time frame, but now aften some contemplation , towards the March expiry...

    GS

I'm thinking of trying my luck with buying the GS April $175 or $170 Calls. Would be nice to have a longer time frame but you obviously pay for it going out to the July Calls. I believe the larger macro picture will be good until at least the spring. Company specific, it is hard to tell...

Can't find this option anywhere. Does your broker have it?

Thanks for the information FXforex. I looked at the entire chain for Jan 15 2016. I am liking the $29-$31 strikes. They are up today. I think I will wait until they pull back just a little and buy some. Cheers

    Cant Shorting Twitter

Thanks Jeb. I didn't know that an exchange has to ask the OCC every time they want to list a particular option including each expiry and strike price. Is that correct? There are so many equities out there, I would imagine they are asking the OCC for listings on a regular basis. I wonder...

    Cant Shorting Twitter

As discussed in other threads, I think the issue is simply locating shares to short. But what about options? How come there are no options that I can see for Twitter? Also, who decides what options are available at a particular strike price and expiry date for a given equity? Thanks

Will we ever visit 09 S&P 500 lows again?

I think the surprise will be to the upside, not downside. I'm calling the market goes up another 20%-30% from here, then re-tests the current levels briefly. Subsequently over the next 10-20 years, we see DOW 60,000. (Then the next big crash will be epic.)

    NFLX Earnings.

His fiduciary responsibility has nothing to do with his opinion on where the share price should be. He slaughtered his own stock for absolutely no good reason. Talking down your own share price = acting against your shareholders.

    NFLX Earnings.

Irrespective of if momentum investors are driving up the stock price being true (and the market determines what the value of a stock is), it was a stupid thing to say for the CEO. The same could be said of a stock going down like a rock... FYI, I have no position in this either way. And...

Are the Carl Icahn AAPL tweets legit?

What part of this falls into being illegal exactly? People are allowed to have opinions on companies and their stock price. Including billionaires. These opinions might be factually based and well researched, or they might be complete conjecture and bogus. Irrespective, it is incumbent...

Stop Limit Orders - please clarify

Any type of limit order should fill you at EXACTLY the order price or better. Not worse. This is just a guess, but the reason it might appear as you explained is that some brokers include the cost of the transaction in the sell or buy price, so that it only appears that you got a different...
