I guess I am misunderstanding.... In the examples of position sizing above....as the ATR increases this reduces the recommended position size. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? If I am correct, then I am trading fewer contracts when volatility (measured by ATR) is higher.

Thanks everyone. This is very helpful. I have another question. Are we all assuming that high volatility is a signal to reduce risk? Have you all done studies to prove this theory? How can we tell that we should not be increasing our size, risk when volatility is high or extremely high?

Here is the only meaningful prediction no matter what anyone "thinks is going to happen". If the price flow keeps going down, then sell. If it stops going down then cover. If the price flow starts to flow up, then buy. If it stops going up then exit. Who really cares what everyone thinks?

Just a small change here. Based on today's price action my reverse level has moved up a few ticks to 8778. Looking for a close below this level to set up shorts.
