I rolled out and up over the past 2 months. Profits for the year wiped out. Loss for this month. Have to roll again. The question is should I roll up (oct), or out (nov), or close with any dip over the next few days. Rolling up seems to have the least loss, if the market does not...

I also lost on XEO CTM bear call spreads this month. Last couple of months were really good too - 25%-40% profit. Lost 33% this month. I trade with less than half of the amount allocated for spreads, so I had enough for the rolls. Although I rolled twice, I have a loss for this month...

Thanks, Mo. In trouble this month with bear calls; with XEO moving up. I was on vacation and did not monitor.............. Just rolled up. But, may need another roll up or out tomorrow.

Last day to trade XEO is Thursday? But, settlement price is based on Friday close. Correct?

I have noticed that when volatility spikes, fills happen at midpoint or better.

So does this mean we should try and sell better that the Theo (when spread is expensive) and buy less than the Theo (when spread is cheap) - waiting for the point where IV makes the spread price cheaper(buy)/expensive(sell) as compared to Theo which is based on HV?

Get TOS live support. I was trying to get out of my July XEO 565/560 for .15 above the mid and could not get filled. TOS legged out for me .5 above the mid.

Usually .10 to .15. from mid. But sometimes just no fills...... I then look at the difference between the bid and ask of the spread. Take 30 to 35% of the difference. Add that to the bid price if I am selling. Usually get filled, but sometimes it is way off the mid (.20 - .25).
