    Trading breakouts [By The Book]

Who said anything about investing? It has to do with extracting all you can from your winners. Eg. that Ebay long position mentioned earlier. That's going north with anger. It doesn't even look like taking a breath. It may take a week or 3 months but it will eventually...

    Trading breakouts [By The Book]

That's why I asked earlier, why do you set targets. A single price swing may last a year and increase 100%+ before it runs out of steam. Setting a target is the opposite of what you're trying to achieve. I don't know about you but it makes me sick when I exit a position only to see it continue...

    Trading breakouts [By The Book]

You're right, you are a bit late with your entry, but be patient and I think you'll do well with this one. There's a good chance it'll correct a little before it takes off again though. Can I ask why you have set yourself a target? I would wait and see how the stock behaves.

Next week the market begins to drop

Old news.......I reckon the market has already factored it in.

    Why have the markets pattern?

Psychological/sentimental areas or trends of support and resistance. ie. if the market turned at a particular area or has formed an obvious trend, the crowd remembers this............until overwhelming supply or demand busts these areas wide open.

For me day trading was an expensive lesson on how to throw good money after bad . The same goes for indicators. My fortunes improved when I increased my time frame to weeks and...

Relative strength of European versus US Markets

You're right, but it depends where you live. I was at Mackay last weekend and that place is still going nuts. They're very vulnerable to the Carbon Tax and China's strength, but it's not showing.......yet. And they're still screaming for labour. Anything tied to China or India is still...

Relative strength of European versus US Markets

Don't use multiples to justify your entry for starters. Europe and the US are still on the credit card round about so things are going to get worse before they get better .

Prepare for the "The Kick The Can Down The Road Crash of 2011"

Lower highs and lower lows = down trend , no ifs or buts. It'll cycle but at the moment it's going down .

Australia the new real estate, property, commodity bubble?

Big difference between Aus and the US at its peak is debt. Debt is not out of control in Aus. Yes you might call it a bubble but people are much more conservative now than they were pre 2007-2008. Everyone I know is saving for a rainy day so to speak. And China isn't going to come crashing down...
