There's a few indicators that already do that. Volume profile tools also do up/down volume. Regarding ticks, doubt they'll ever come. It's been requested countless times. Seems like they got other priorities.

IB is horrible for low-cost stocks. They're really only good for low quantity, high-priced stocks, otherwise the commissions get out of hand. This same order would cost you $20 round-trip on TD or RBC
