They're supposed to work in any time frame. However the 1 min charts will give you false and unreliable signals. 10 and 60 min are good for intraday. Daily and weekly work best.
I am using Interactive Brokers and Longbull. I had eSignal but got rid of it. Indicators work better on daily and weekly charts than hourly ones. Candlesticks patterns work great on a 10 min chart.
There are so much uncertainties right now. Stick to daytrades and swing trades. It's safer. There is no guarantee that the one dollar stocks will survive. Trust me. Bought tons of ITWO and CMGI when they fall to 5. I consider that money gone and now do strictly daytrades. You will get that...
You'll make more with swing trades. Gaps do happen pretty often. And that's what make you more money if your position is in the right direction. Supposed you were short WCOM and kept it overnight... It;s a different story if you were long.... It just depends on your risk tolerance.
