I believe these principles can be applied to the long term investor also... Examples I have used over the years; Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft would have a bad/one off quarter. The market spanks them and I buy. I know that concept is very simplistic (and more things go into the decision)...

Have 200 shares in Budget/Avis (CAR) in our trust. Did a covered call for the June 25 $170. I got $$2.95 for both...$.588.62 after commissions. As I write the stock is at $78.41. I'll just grab the rich premium...I also wonder what (and when) will happen if Hertz goes under.
