Can IB just increase my Liquid ETFs to 100 margin/no margin?

Also curious what the lowest level of margin at IB was in 2008 and 2000 if anybody knows. I did get a message a couple days ago in the bulletin system of TWS saying that as a guidance margins can be "expected to increase roughly 50% from current levels". I am not sure if that already happened or...

    IB Margin increases....

A couple days ago I got a bulletin message in TWS that margin can be expected to "increase roughly 50% from current levels". Did that already happen? I didn't notice any change. Just a plain old boring portfolio which consists of fully paid for stocks, some cash and short put options. Just...

So after a little over 3 years mine began showing "LoBatt" when I switch it on. Time to order a new one.

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

15 years, pretty impressive. I dont think the credit card sized ones will last that long. Mine runs for 3 years now with once daily usage.

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

Are your number keys clicky? With a 3+ year old card you should have the silent touch buttons for the 12 keys on the left.

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

Here is a video that shows the internals. So I guess the upper left would be a hole candidate. But hey, maybe IB uses a different version. Don't do this before talking to IB, you might punch a hole in the battery causing it to explode. The manufacturer website specifically says the safe spots...

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

Thanks for that info sprstpd. I still have the original card with the non-clicky touch buttons. How old is that card with the clicky buttons? Are the button raised now or is it still flat like a credit card? Any other changes? I've read here somewhere a year ago that they plan to use a different...

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

I don't know anybody without a phone. I don't think the type of people trading stocks over the internet come in the no-phone-for-me variety. The app works fine - it is probably just not as secure as the digital cards because a phone could potentially be hacked, while the digital cards can not.

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

One reason: Out-of-band authentication gives you an additional layer of security. I don't get it. You mean, they requested it back when the battery was empty? There is a 20 USD replacement fee I believe if you loose it.

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

NID Security are probably the guys making the card. They say 3 years or 15,000 usages. Source: https://www.nidsecurity.com/faq/ Does everybody have to wait for the card to run out of juice or does IB allow to replace it after 3 years or so, to ensure continuous operation?

IB Digital Security Card Expected Battery Life

Whats the expected battery life of the Digital Security Card silver/gold? Would love to hear experiences how long it lasted. Please post how long it lasted after you received the card, and how often you turn it on (eg daily, once a week, etc). Anybody got their card very recently? Is there a...

Interactive Brokers: "Another session with the same user name already exists"

I asked support this very question about a year ago or so. Back then this did not exist, but I created a feature request for it. The suggestion of support back then was to call them and they might be able to figure it out on the phone. Not sure if this feature has been created in the meantime, I...

    PRIIPS KID on IB

It could also just be a case of that particular brokerage having missed the deadline for the implementation of PRIIPS. Especially if it is a small local broker.
