whenever I bring the idea up with regular people it seems to catch them off guard or smth. however I don't talk to a lot of people.
they don't have to be offline people but people that you didn't have to go out of your way to find (like going on a forum made specifically for traders)
what can I say? The efficient market hypothesis appears to have some real weight to it but a random elitetrader poster has a different idea. It's a tough decision who to trust.

yeah it definitely is competitive. that is why I feel rather hopeless about this. The banks I would be competing against have enough money to hire some of the best traders in the world.
Everyone says that you shouldn't curve fit a system perfectly because it will fail. So why not perfectly curve fit a system and then just do the opposite of that system?
