    Economic Calendar

Does anyone know if there is a download someplace of an economic calendar? Briefing.com has a calendar of all the dates / times of economic events (fed, gdp release, etc). I'm looking for a version that I could import into Microsoft Outlook. I could just key it all in but I was hoping there...

QID vs QLD ? Not inverse

I haven't really ever paid much attention to this but I thought that the QID and the QLD were supposed to move inversely to each other and 2x the QQQQ At the moment, (10:14am) QQQQ +1.32% QID -2.12% QLD +2.76% I can understand them not being exactly 2x but the QID and the QLD...

Cutting losses - not the best idea

Here is the quick and dirty spreadsheet. It isn't pretty but I just wanted to see the numbers. Mr Market, I was assuming you would probably increase the position size, so that it might start out at $10,000, and as the account grows, 1/12th might now be $12-13,000, etc, and take a larger...

Cutting losses - not the best idea

I usually don't post much. Not sure why this thread has caught my attention, but it has. I have on occasion posted, and gotten some replies that just made me not want to. Everyone seems to believe that "their" method is best, etc. First off, let me say that Mr Markets method wouldn't fit...

    Duel data feeds

I don't know how you can split the data feed, but what about adding a second vide card and monitor to your computer? you can then run your brokerage on one screen, and your data feed on the other. One keyboard and mouse, but two places to view it all.

    Backtesting for confidence

Thanks H20 I'll take a look. Here is the results from TradeSim. It uses a fixed dollar for every trade. So even as the equity grows, I'm not taking exponentially larger positions. I can take more positions, and allow the position size to grow slowly as the equity builds. All the...

    Backtesting for confidence

I found myself in April of this year questioning my trading method. I had been using the same strategy over the last few years, and was quite profitable. Then in April, something changed and I took a big hit. I trade an almost purely mecahnical system, although, sometimes I do take some...

    Network Wizards help please...

You didn't say how much data you were transfering and what frequency. I doubt your problem is CPU or network but more the total volume you are sending. If the data is just too big, it's going take a while. Why don't you try accessign the data directly from the PC that holds it, rather...
