yes i understand that 2 days is not even worth using as a sample size. but are you saying that i should go with the lower commission then? instead of a bigger leverage?

just made a short trade on eur/usd. short at 1.40872 got out at 1.40722. got out a bit early it seems but just wanted to have a good start with this journal.:D this was a 100k batch so up 150

Wed May 25, 2011 hello guys, i'm just starting this journal to try and have myself held accountable for my forex account. i am hoping to see if i can make it on this tough market and am starting with $4150. i know some may think that this isn't enough buying power but like i've recently...

i am not trying to trade as large as a volume as i can, it's just that if i used a lower commission place i.e. IB, it just won't give me much of anything to work with.

i understand that i am still new to this learning curve and that i shouldn't be taking into too much positions. i am just trying to gradually make profits here and there and hope to improve my skills. i will be opening a journal for this journey if you would like to follow me and give me more...

yeah so pretty much i'm paying for using the leverage, just wondering what you guys thought, would you rather not trade a big lot and only trade 5k instead of 50k?

i think i'm alright, most of my trades so far has been pretty good. so far i've been able to trade lots of about 30k to50k and using a 3500 acct i've been able to make about 700 in two days.

i think it's time for me to confess, my best day i was able to make 8k but the worst was 50k. oh boy, i do remember that day. got killed in the forex and usd.cad just kept on dropping.. was sick to my stomach and didnt' do anything but lay in bed under my blanket thinking what i could have...

ib has both web and smartphone app so if you are using ib then that should help with you keeping track of your portfolio.
