You have to use the canvas coordinates as opposed to the chart coordinates (for slope calculations, etc) because the empty space has no bars. A possible way of doing this is track the start bar (p1) and track the number of bars between pt1 & pt 3. Then convert both pt1 & pt 3 to canvas...

Here are the ES & YM pace levels calculated as of friday EOD. The low volume over the last couple of weeks have really dropped the pace levels.
