I am reading Al Brooks's book, the method he uses is close to how I trade and I am impressed by this book.
Would the chat room help me? I pretty much understand what he is saying already having trader for a while. Tx
1. Does it add value for you? That might be one reason.
2. It does add value for other traders for sure.
3. Also for me, it would be great if you left it up after the new year 1/1/11, I really don't have time to re-read it all before then....so please do not 'close' it or whatever...
:D :D :D
Thanks to you and MM for all the inspiration on the P n L forum, you must be as bored as we are by this 'dull market' - ok more time for us to dig in further for the big bucks, tx.
I worked with Schwab Tech Support (very good person) and (1) cleaned up my .net files) and (2) re-installed SSP.
It seems to work now.
One note: I have 32-bit Vista which works with SSP, but there are issues with the 64-bit Vista, I was told....just FYI.
I heard that Schwab SSP was compatible with Windows Vista (of which I have heard a lot of bad things), but DELL forced the issue on my new computer and I now have Vista.

...for two years I checked this thread and finally am making decent money most days....
.....thanks to all of you for your good examples for a newby....
....and some fine outrageous insults as well.
:) :p :) :p :)
Take heart, Red Ink, I would be thrilled if i COULD lose that much money, you are surely in the Big Leagues.
Surely you know the drill:
Take a break
Trade smaller and more conservatively until you tune in to this truly trechorous mother of a market.
I suspect the entire situation is much worse than they are saying.
Myself, I am concerned not just for the markets, but for the long term financial future of the US and the globe.
I have not yet dug my hole in the earth, but am being very conservative now.
:(
I want to be clear - I can open a Roth account or transfer mine to IB and use it to daytrade (it is over $25K) - yes? Thanks for this info, just want to clarify.
Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers....can you say "Paulsen" - maybe you should read more widely on the financial and economic blogs. Just IMHO
I suggest you start with this one:
