    FWTG - shut down!

Here's a link to the specifics of FutureWise/CCI suspension. http://www.nfa.futures.org/news/newsreleases/nr02072002.html

    FutureWise Trading Group

Wow! I only traded with them for a couple of weeks. The software wasn't stable enough and when their server was down for me it was down for their order desk also so I left.

    Cost of Futures Trading

So my whole post gets deleted? With the idiotic runaround most futures brokers give you I thought details would be helpful. Some of them don't even want to quote you a rate until you give contact info.

    Emini liquidity

I suppose my perspective is a bit skewed since I've been trading the Nasdaq100 e-mini which had a 60 point non-Fed related spike last week (on the 15th). I wasn't in a trade when that occured but it has affected my outlook and risk assesment. The S&P500 futures did not have the big spike so...

    Emini liquidity

Sorry, I didn't check the board last night. If you're refering to my "popular discount broker and their handling of stop orders" comment, yes. You win the prize. :) I opened my account with Steve Sweet @ NetFutures 888-434-8142 e-mail at ssweet@netfutures.com . For me, their all inclusive...

    Emini liquidity

You didn't say which e-mini you are trading. The S&P500 usually has ~30-40% higher volume than the Nasdaq100 e-mini and is considered the most liquid electronically traded contract in the US futures market. I traded 5-15 lot NQ positions in December without significant slippage but haven't...

    crazy nq-move

I usually trade NQ but I'm not trading today. After seeing that NQ spike I'm glad even though I may have been long into the spike. A spike like that, out of the blue with no Fed action, scares the hell out of me. Futures traders know that bids and offers get pulled when there are economic...

    ENE getting NYSE boot

I haven't touched ENE since it went < $1 and its volatility went exponential but I'm wondering if anyone was loaded up on it looking for a bounce > $1. When you play with fire...

Leading indicator for trading E-mini contracts

Yep. Thats how I use the various indexes and measurements. I look for divergences between futures action (Nasdaq in my case), SOX, tick-q and trin-q and a lack of confirmation for futures moves.

    Cheapo Dell Monitors!!!

I don't get the resolution of current LCD offerings. For charts I use 19" monitors running at 1600x1200. You can buy laptops with 15" LCDs that have that resolution but I can't even seem to find 17" LCDs (which have about the same viewable area as 19" CRTs) capable of 1600x1200 resolution...

Leading indicator for trading E-mini contracts

allesim, I don't use esignal so I can't help you with their symbols. The SOX is not Nasdaq specific and includes several NYSE listed companies (AMD, TXN, MU come to mind). As for the Nasdaq tick I mean the tick measurement (upticking vs downticking stocks) not a tick chart. Realtick gives...

Leading indicator for trading E-mini contracts

Short answer, the SOX index. From my experience (using Realtick) I'd say that if there is a leading indicator(s) of the Nasdaq 100 futures it would be the SOX index and the Nasdaq tick. However the lead is sometimes significant for the Nasdaq tick (minutes). The trend and relative position...

futures, EMINI: web sites for learning

I've shopped futures brokers recently and your figures look like they're based on the old CME overnight margin requirements (recently lowered). Most brokers are comfortable with daytraders having 50% of the overnight margin requirement (currently ~$3,900 for S&P500 and $4,100 for Nasdaq100) for...
