The problem with this - and I've lost 20k in one day because of this - is that your stops don't work after the bell. Stops offer some protection, but they don't make up for properly hedging your risk against extreme volatility.

I would agree with you that BB isn't as useful for day traders - but most people don't day trade, or at the very least diversify over time.

I usually do all analysis on the underlying security before looking at the option itself. I do take into consideration the amount of contracts floating around, etc., but that isn't where my search begins. One cool thing about using volatility breakout is that you buy the option when the bands...

aren't you comparing apples and oranges? ToS has commision fees.. OptionVue has a system cost and a data cost on top of commissions. Additionally, ToS let's you "pick your commissions"... I don't pay near that much for my trades.
