A number of years ago I put together the data in spreadsheet format and had a hard time going back since some stocks no...
Has anyone else installed PTF 3.01? If so, is it running slower or faster than PTF 2.99 for you? What operating system are you using?
So far I have not gotten any help on this from PTF so I have to ask the people on the forum.
Has anyone else experienced problems running PTF 3.01?
When I run the back tester and then try and find pairs it runs much much slower than the 2.99 version.
I ran 2.99 on my old computer and it too 2 min and 20 seconds to run with 10 stocks to find the 45 pairs. The new version on a new...
Neospecioalist....if you look at what PTF does it uses the Yahoo prices to calculate it's recommendations.
For ALL of its daily calculations it is the closing price that is used. It is easily possible to trade at this price with a MOC order.
Before knocking PTF as you do I suggest that...
PTF uses whatever trade data Yahoo posts. Yahoo does correct errors as the day goes along so that past performance runs generally show the correct data and can be used for relative comparison purposes.
It looks like Yahoo has a problem with quotes for RY. It still shows the 46.11 for the previous close as well as for last trade. Shows no volume for today nor any updated prices.
I have Trade Station and went back and looked at RY. It traded as low as 45.82 after market hours so Yahoo showing 46.11 at 9:30 next mornign for last trade is not out of line.
Does anyone have alink for the latest version of PTF. The one on their website does nto have the time based exit and the other features mentioned here recently.
