i too took a look at beas. here is what i see on a short term basis. below all moving averages, negative crossovers - bearish. strong divergency in volume and momentum between the two lows of 11/16 and 12/11 - bullish. call activity,extremely low, people are not interested in this...

what is a wolf wave? that aside, the current chart pattern is actually quite bad. it can't and should not be above the upper channel...that breakout is bearish.

The OBV looks kind of ugly on this thing. On the other hand the TRIX is converging and staples might be seeing an influx of money as investors seek shelter. I wouldnt be a buyer, but after it pulls back after last week's rally - it might be possible.

i dont think there is anything wrong with them rallying a little today - they have been slipping for quite some time. but its not the kind of move that should scare anyone who was short/bearish.

hey albrady, why are you having such a sudden reverse in the outlook on all these markets? do you believe that the us dollar has bottomed and will now rally? if so....this will drive the commodities down and while the equities market might not exactly rally further, why would you...

considering that this current bond rally started back in june, i think going short is probably a good bet from a probability stand point. i dont trade bonds myself, but use them from an intermarket analysis stand point and really fail to see where the rational is for this market to be making...

Working off the TLT and IEF charts I am seeing a divergency between price and obv/trix. Other few interesting things to mention are extreme spikes in call activity and money flow which indicates either extreme bullish sentiment or buying power exhaustion. Either way, I think TLT will head...

oh, yes absolutely, a correction will sweep up everything - but there are plenty of people who either go long or go cash. for those people i would not just pick any staple, some are definitely better than others - i didnt really scrutinize over pepsi....although cvs is definitely attractive...

CVS is indeed good, but so are a few other staples. Things like KO, MO, BUD...etc Because just like you stated, the cyclical growth stocks will get hammered and money will flow into more defensive positions.

eagle, not sure if that makes u happy, but i shorted steve jobs for about 4 days :) yay. i was short aapl and was stopped out friday, @ around 87.70
