LittleMac,
Here is my interpretation of DBTK. Take it for what it's worth as you can tell by my last post that I'm very much a beginner and not as far along as you. I moved your channel lines over a bit (red and green lines). I like to draw the channel as if I'm looking at it on the day that...
Ok, now I'm really really mad. Everything that I sold yesterday because it hit my stop is now back where it was before the fed. I guess there's a lesson in this. I hereby swear that I will never again try to hold through a fed meeting!!!
Spyder,
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I've actually been thinking about adding short trades, so your advice confirmed what I had already been thinking. Although, I feel that initially I should stick to longs for the first couple of months when I start trading with real money...
Just wondering if anyone else trading the beginner methods is having a bad run this month. I've done 11 paper trades so far in November, and all but two have hit my initial 2.5% stop. I know that Spydertrader has always said that he pays little attention to the broad market, but I'm getting a...
Umm.. actually this is incorrect. A Roth IRA also has early withdrawal penalties of 10%, except if the money is used for buying a first house or qualified educational expenses.
The big difference between the two is that with a traditional IRA the earnings are tax DEFERRED until withdrawal...
I've been having the same problem, but I don't think it has anything to do with you (or me). The market clearly has had a lot of volatility lately and volume in general has been very high. Hence, one wouldn't expect many Hershey stocks to be showing dry up.
I thought that maybe this article would help to relieve some of your fears about money market funds.

I think (and someone else can correct me if I'm wrong) that the scan doesn't report stocks in dry up that no don't have rank. If you run chartscript version 4.2 you'll notice that both of these stocks say rank:none in the upper corner.
Dry up volume scan: Hershey Equities Dry up Volume scan v. 2.0.0 (three month)
For charts: Hershey Equities Chartsript Version 4.2
I think that Spyder also eyeballs his charts, so he sometimes gets additional stocks in dry up that the scan doesn't catch.
could you elaborate on this? I can see that the gap makes an area of support between yesterday's close and today's open - a range of 15.40-17.15 or so. I would expect that the stock could retrace to a point anywhere within this range, but I don't see how you would have predicted 16.80 to be the...
As per your earlier quote:
I'm assuming that you're scanning then entire market when you say that you are using EOD data. This is fine if you are willing to take on additonal risk. However if you want to manage your risk better, then it is more advisable to stick to stocks that meet the...
