Anyone knows why usa residents can't open forex account in hotforex or other brokers?

It's the futures brokers that are getting the "free pass". Unlike Forex brokers, they don't have any significant capital requirements since the CFTC considers them pass thru to one of their nostalgic 90's era futures exchanges.

Anyone knows why usa residents can't open forex account in hotforex or other brokers?

So, what if I want to trade other pairs like EURGBP, GBPJPY, or AUDJPY with a bid/ask spread that's actually suitable for daytrading? What if I want to be like Goldman Sachs and take a longer term currency basket position in the GBP? How do I do that on CME? CME is no substitute for forex...

    NadexMoney!

...still crickets? Anyway, I've been researching NADEX too. Mostly it's still crap. The daily binaries for SPX and DOW seem to be the only ones with spreads consistently 5 points or less, so I've been focusing on those. Papertrading a mean reversion strategy using the binaries that...

    Nadex 20 & 5 binaries

Thanks for the info. You say the third market maker went away. That might explain what happened to the Nikkei225. Earlier this year it started trading with a $7 spread, almost as good as Osaka Nikkei Mini. But now its back to $13 -- not tradeable in my opinion. So attracting market makers...

    Nadex 20 & 5 binaries

Hey Sig, For what its worth, I agree with you. I've been following in particular the stock indexes on NADEX. The much lauded S&P Mini is still too big for me, and I've been looking for an alternative to ETFs. Sure SPY is fine for trading during normal market hours with a PDT account, but...

    AMP Futures - Asia's Most Liquid Futures Mini-Nikkei 225 - Osaka-Japan (JPX) Now Available!!

Thanks. Unfortunately IB has some quirky futures trading mins for my age group -- >$100K liquid NW but curiously no income requirement. That doesn't fit my situation. $4 would be great if I could get it!

    AMP Futures - Asia's Most Liquid Futures Mini-Nikkei 225 - Osaka-Japan (JPX) Now Available!!

Does anyone know of a broker that offers cheaper access to Osaka than the $29 for AMP? I don't need tick data. Just basic real time quote and order placement would be fine. Thanks.

    tastyworks announces fee structure

This is probably a dumb question, but has anyone here used Tastyworks to short ETFs yet? Have you noticed a problem with shares not being available? Just asking because another broker offering similar commissions (Just2Trade) never has shares available for shorting Sector SPDRs. GLD and USO...
