Not sure about that but if you have an IB account, you can open a paper account for free and open both simultaneously. The paper account gives you the full functionality and is better than the demo account.
You can easily find the "correct" information from the web. Go to the IRS website and find publication 54. In general, there is an "exclusion" for foreign earned income of $85,700 (2007) but as always, there are other things to consider.

FYI, Ensign will allow you to change the formula from exponential to simple (among 8 other formulas) so it would be feasible to use MACD to get what you want.

I don't believe that you can chart in TWS but I know that the Ensign software has a workaround and will let you chart. You may want to search their website and it might give you some information.

There should already be a hotkey setup for bracket orders. On my machine it is "right click" on the bid/ask. Look under configuration for the booktrader and see if you have a hotkey already set up which will allow you to click within the DOM.
Just about any 3rd party IB compatible charting software would give you the ability to plot 4 hour charts. Some possible candidates would be:

Not true, they do have a demo but just keep in mind it is just that. The data is not accurate but most of the tools and functions can be viewed.
Once you open an account, you can also open a parallel "paper trading" account (free) that uses live data for simulation/testing.
You can also go to iVolatility.com and they maintain a list (see the link under "Rankers & Scanners") of the top 200 by volume or open interest. You may have to join but you can join the basic services for free.
