Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

Are you referring to the interbank market here when speaking about wholesale dealers or is there a difference? Because at the end of the day, in a true ECN model the interbank market is where the trades are sent I think (which I referred to as the real market earlier in this thread). I am asking...

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

From what I know so far I'd rather say that not chosing the market maker model has the major benefit that there is no conflict of interest. The broker is happy if you make money (and obviously you yourself are happy if you make money). Both the broker and the client have the same goal. Maybe you...

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

About the CME futures thing: Isn't that information you can find in the COT report that comes out every friday (though with a lag of three days)?

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

It may be for the fact that I haven't had a look at a DoM yet, but I am not too sure whether I understand what that means. Does that mean that if there is a great marekt depth the customer sentiment is high annd vice versa?

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

Why do you deem the broker's DoM to be garbage? I am aware of that, that's why I spent a good deal of time learning about brokers and looking at many of them in greater detail.

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

Ah, very interesting. So far, I only traded on demo accounts, webtraders. Do you know whether installing that works on webtraders (MT4) as well?

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

Sounds very much like a market maker model to me. However, if I opened a live account then it would be an ECN broker which - if I understood correctly - basically transfers my trade into the real market. After having scrutinized many brokers I think IC Marekts would be a good choice. I really...

Lot size, slippage and execution speed for non-major forex pairs

I am somewhat confused. I sifted through older threads in this and other forums on the topic of liquidity, order execution and lot size. While one might think that this should not be an issue for an beginner, there is still an observation that confuses me. With a misconception that I had...

Question about lot sizes and account balance

Why does the lot size vary greatly depending on the currency pair at all? A lot is 100000 units of the base currency of a currency pair, so regarding for example the pairs USD/JPY, USD/MXN and USD/SEK (assuming the account currency is USD) they all should trade the same lot size given the same...

Question about lot sizes and account balance

Indeed. This problem of which broker I can trust was one that gave me headache right from the beginning when I began learning about trading. I think with IC Markets I have found a good ECN broker (though I have not yet opened a live account, just a demo account, because I first want to get the...

Question about lot sizes and account balance

Ah, thank you, Xela, that cleared it up for me. Leverage does not have to be all that dangerous given a reasonable risk managment. So, what would be a good leverage to set for an account?

Question about lot sizes and account balance

Hello, surely you know the position size calculator of Myfxbook: https://www.myfxbook.com/forex-calculators/position-size Playing around with it a result kept popping up over and over again that I don't know what to make of. Assuming an account balance of $10.000, a risk ratio of 0.6% and a...

    Question concerning pip value

Thank you everybody for your responses. Concerning the JPY pairs I forgot in my line of thought that for them a pip is one hundreth of the current price, not a ten thousandth.
