One more observation on this market is that ahead of major US news, NFP, fed decision etc the Nikkei tends to also be in waiting mode with subdued volatility. Has anyone else noticed that?

Any thoughts on why it has been so dull the last month? I started trading it as well recently and it's nothing like previous few months. Do you also look at the Yen? It sometimes seem like they influence each other.

Probably, relative to scalpers. I only do about 1-5 stock day trades a day (several hundred a year) for the past 3 years. I'm sure other's experience with IB is different, on my trading frequency they "only" drop the ball on me a couple of times per year. Maybe I've been "lucky" :-)

I know what you mean. Actually I've been with IB for about 3 years now and have had very few issues. But as one of my trading buddies says: IB's commission and order types all sound great, but when I need that customer service once a year I need it pronto and I need it to be top notch...
