Mike805, Have you looked at the slippage from sending stop orders to the exchanges for listed stocks?

My understanding is that ARCA/ARCX doesn't take stop market orders - only limit and market orders. Are these being held on your broker's server (or on your trading platform) until the stop is elected, at which time they become straight market orders?

That's what I was thinking too for limit and market orders. ARCA doesn't take stop orders though. What do you think about placing these with the exchanges if listed versus holding them on the server until they trigger as market orders versus placing with a market maker?

I have an all in deal in which I don't have to worry about routing fees, which is good since I mostly remove liquidity. I need to act quickly when I get a trading signal. What preset routing path would be best? Would it make a difference if the stock were NYSE, AMEX or NASDAQ?

The IB website says stop orders are not permitted for forex trades. Can this really be correct? If so, it seems only traders glued to their screens could trade there. If this is incorrect and stop orders are permitted, does IB also allow forex OCO, trailing stop and/or if done OCO orders?
